APICONS: Add CA-Automation Point Shortcuts

When you install the WindowsNT version of CA-Automation Point, it creates a folder with various shortcuts for starting the various product components and online documentation. Several other shortcuts are useful to add, including:

  • Edit AP Rules (Using your actual rules filename)

  • Edit AP Parms (Using your actual parm filename)

  • Reload AP Rules (Launch loadrule.cmd, shown later)

  • Browse old host Log (Using your archived logfile name scheme)

  • Browse old AP Log (Using your archived logfile name scheme)

You can create these shortcuts manually by right-clicking in your Automation Point folder. Alternatively, if you have access to the shortcut.exe program (in the Windows NT Resource Kit), you can run the APICONS.BAT file to create these shortcuts. This is especially useful if you have multiple Automation Point PCs which you want to all have the same shortcuts.
