Coined "The REXXDog" after a user conference way back the mid 90s.

This internet listserver focuses on Enterprise Systems Management & Data Center Automation (ESM&A).  This is a free service provided and hosted by ProTech Professional Technical Services, Inc.

The intent is to foster an open, unbiased, vendor-neutral discussion for all products and platforms such as CA-OPS/MVSTM, SA z/OSTM, AutoOPERATORTM, AF/OperatorTM, CONTROLTM , PATROLTM, UNICENTERTM, TIVOLITM , OPENVIEWTM, and all other Enterprise Systems Management tools and products for mainframe and distributed systems. 

Subscribers can share ideas, best practices, and compare information with multi-vendor, multi-product implementations by email with hundreds of technical analyts working in data centers worldwide.

Update Sep-2010:  ProTechTraining also now has a Alumni Forum available on LinkedIn with a Technical Discussion subgroup for ITSM Service Assurance Tools (formerly ESM&A).

Joining the list

To join the automation list, send a message to listserver@protechpts.comwith the following text in the message body:   join automation   or simply Click Here

 

Sending mail to the list

To send a message to all automation list members, send your message toautomation@protechpts.com.

 

Leaving the list

To stop receiving messages from the automation list, send a message to listman@protechpts.com with the following text in the message body:   leave automation   or simply Click Here

 

Requesting Digests

Instead of getting each message from the list seperately, you may askthe list server to send you a compendium of all the messages that weresent that day. To do this, send a message to listserver@protechpts.comwith the following text in the message body:   digest automation   or simply Click Here

The list manager will send you a confirmation message back, and every 24hours you will receive a single email message with a table of contentsand each message listed in it.
