Operations Processing Assessment (OPA) is a comprehensive assessment of Data Center Operations, with emphasis on improved processing, software utilization, and increased productivity.
The OPA will:
- Assess the performance of the Data Center in areas already supported Identify areas of performance improvements that can be addressed through additional solution products or methods
- Prioritize the performance improvement projects
The goals of OPA are to:
- Establish a better understanding of the capabilities of your current products and environmentDiscover possible opportunities for improvement with additional solution sets of products
- Identify measurable benchmarks to monitor implemented improvements
As part of the OPA, we examine the following business disciplines in depth:
- Configurations Management

- Problem Management Applications Software Management Scheduling Restart / Rerun Management Console Management Data Center Reporting DASD Management Tape Management Output Management Security
- Capacity Planning
Workflow Analysis
After the Data Collections phase, we perform a workflow analysis in which we examine in detail the Data Center's actual work processes and the use of solutions set products. This gives us a comprehensive understanding of your Data Center Operations. We will use the Data Collections and Workflow Analysis to identify a means to measure improvements and opportunities for additional solution set products.
Measurements and Findings Report
The initial OPA will result in three deliverables:
- A final presentation summarizing the results of the assessment
- A final written report describing our findings and conclusions
- Various Recommendations
Final Report
The final report will be organized into five sections:
- Executive Summary - A brief summary of the report background
- A description of the OPA methodology and a profile of your operations environment
- The assessment of the processes of your Data Center relative to solution set products Workflow Analysis
- A discussion of the opportunities for improvements identified during the assessment Summary of Recommendations
- A summary of the recommendations stated or implied in the final report
Recommended Implementation Plan
Once the OPA Findings and Recommendations are presented to your IT management, the OPA team will prepare a recommended implementation plan using the feedback and direction given to us by your IT management leaders. This plan will include high-level projects, time lines, resources, and cost estimates.
