Summary:
Learn the essentials of Aggregated databases (ASO) with this course that gets any Essbase administrator up to speed fast. Features of ASO databases, how they compare to Block Storage (BSO) databases, and the new MDX language for creating member formulae are all covered. Several exercises and examples will lead you through the general workflow of creating and working with ASO databases, as well as some advantages and disadvantages. This course will also discuss the process for converting your BSO database into an ASO format, and some pitfalls to avoid. Finally, the class discusses write-back considerations and design using Transparent Partitioning.
