Training Summary
This class introduces administrators to the AIX operating system. The class focuses on fundamental commands and concepts needed for day-to-day maintenance of AIX based machines. Participants will attain the skills necessary to operate confidently and efficiently in a command line and menu-based environment, monitor system performance, and manage system services. The student will also learn to maintain service configuration files, manage user accounts, and manage and maintain the disk subsystem, LVM, and network.Emphasis will be placed on writing Korn Shell script files to automate repetitive and monitoring tasks.This class is modeled after IBM's AIX System Administration Certification Study Guide and may be taught on any version of AIX.
Prerequisites
Students should have a working familiarity with the AIX operating system, including experience using the vi editor, navigating the hierarchical file system and using basic commands.
