Learn how to analyze and document systems requirements using industry standard techniques (such as data and process models, use cases and use case diagrams. Practice gathering and analyzing user requirements in preparation for modeling both system activities and data requirements in diagram form to ensure precise, detailed systems specifications. Document processes to show how they interact step by step with the users and stakeholders, describe what the system does, and function as a unifying thread throughout the system life cycle (from analysis through design and test phases of development). Learn to diagram complex processes that cut across multiple business areas and processes. Develop data models for detailed information and database requirements, including normalization techniques for quality checking. Learn related requirements analysis techniques, linking business processes to information requirements and organizational objectives, and investigate opportunities for process improvement. Develop practice in gathering requirements from uses and other stakeholders. Apply further quality assurance practices in documenting and modeling requirements for systems.
