Summary
This course focuses on providing senior level managers, including program managers, project directors, project managers and functional managers who have a need to expand their project management capabilities. The emphasis is on project leadership, communications, project organization, portfolio management, corporate planning and project selection. Participants will be presented with a project selection methodology for the identification, prioritization and selection of potential projects. The need to select projects that support corporate strategies will be addressed.This course will be focused on the corporate planning environment, including modelling the annual corporate planning process, linking the corporate process to portfolio management and project selection. The risks posed by project selection to the organization and executives will be examined. Participants will learn important concepts and terminology which will be enhanced through workshops, including designing a corporate planning process, identifying project portfolios and identifying potential project initiatives.
Prerequisites
Students should have taken the Project Planning for Success course, the Project Management Boot Camp course, or an equivalent.
