This course covers all aspects of Db2 for z/OS data sharing performance, from the hardware and software components of the Db2 data sharing group and the z/OS parallel sysplex that most affect performance, to performance-enhancing application programming techniques, to the tools available for data sharing performance monitoring and the rules of thumb that facilitate effective use of these tools. Knowledge transfer is enhanced through the use of paper-based lab exercises that involve analysis of configuration and monitoring reports drawn from real-world, production Db2 data sharing installations.
Students should be familiar with the Db2 for z/OS mainframe environment, ideally with production experience with Db2 for z/OS Version 7 or beyond.
4 Days/Lecture & Lab
This course is intended for experienced Db2 professionals who are involved in Db2 data sharing support from a performance monitoring and tuning perspective.
