A major goal of operating systems is to execute jobs while making the best use of system resources. To use resources efficiently, operating systems divide jobs into parts and distribute these parts to queues to await needed resources. Resource management and work flow management are shared between MVS and its JOB ENTRY SUBSYSTEM 3 (JES3) component.
