Training Summary
This course is a mix of in-depth instructor led training and hands-on labs that focuses on the creation of management packs. Attendees will leave this class having built a management pack using a variety of tools including; the Operations Console, Override Explorer, the Authoring Console, Visual Studio, Report Builder and XML Notepad. At the completion of this course the attendees will have the knowledge and skills to author their own Management Packs to customize their monitoring needs.This class does not focus on installation or configuration of Operations Manager. This course is solely focused on MP and report development. The Operations Manager 2007 virtual environment that the attendees will work in is built with SP1.
Prerequisites
Prior to attending this course, the students should be familiar with Operations Manager, the various server roles and the concepts covered in both the Installation and Configuration and Fundamentals courses. Students should come into this class with an understanding of Monitors, Rules and the different components that make up a management pack. A working knowledge of T-SQL, XML and familiarity with Visual Studio 2005 are not required for this class but would be beneficial skills to have if planning on authoring MPs and reports.
