The Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a professional who is versed in the basics of the Lean Six Sigma Methodology who supports improvement projects as a part of a team or conducts small projects on a part time basis. A Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt possesses an understanding of the aspects within the phases of D-M-C.. The accelerated Six Sigma Yellow Belt program and methodology focuses on employees who need to execute the tools as part of a process improvement Team or as part of their daily activities while understanding the overall approach and core techniques of the Define, Measure, and Control Phases of Six Sigma's DMAIC Methodology.. Yellow Belts primarily support the project by participating in defining the project parameters, brainstorming possible causes, assisting in measuring process inputs and gathering data, as well as implementing the solution and monitoring the process controls. Yellow Belts can do much of the legwork in gathering data and executing experiments in support of a process improvement project. As they become more proficient they can increase the Team's effectiveness.Six Sigma is a proven technique for methodically dissecting a complex problem and determining root causation. Six Sigma uses statistical methods to determine how various factors affect a dependent variable or feature of a product that may be causing defects or process problems. Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training consists of 24 hours of classroom training.
Before taking this course, students should have basic Microsoft Excel skills and intermediate Math Skills.
