Tableau Desktop Fundamentals

This seminar will utilize lectures, hands-on workshops and case studies to introduce individuals to foundations of business intelligence using Tableau. We start with simple charts and progresses to complex visualizations including combining them to create interactive dashboards.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
2 Days/Lecture & Lab
This course is designed to provide the skills needed to create reports in Tableau and is oriented towards Tableau beginners who work with data analytics and presentation.
Topics in this seminar will include business intelligence basics, Tableau architecture, connecting to data via Tableau, supported data structures, creating data visualizations, use of sorting, static and dynamic conditional filtering, using Tableau markups, illustrate visualization event flows, using joins and blends, controlling data colorization and sizing thru markups, creating data aggregations, simple and complex sorting, limiting results using filter panel, use of prompted filters, data aggregation of measure values, data calculations, generating totals, variety of visualizations (tabular, charts, graphs, maps, etc) and building dashboards.
