Training Summary
The Essentials of Program Management course addresses the fundamental aspects of program definition, delivery, and closure. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the concept of a program distinguishing between the principles of Project Management and Program Management. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the five performance domains in which program managers spend their efforts implementing the program: Strategy Alignment, Benefits Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Governance, and Life Cycle Management. The three major phases of the program life cycle are further explored by discussing the supporting processes and activities that take place within each of the phases. This course is aligned with the current version of the Project Management Institute’s Standard for Program Management.
Prerequisites
Before taking this course, students should have fluency in Project Management best practices and/or the 5th Edition of the Project Management Institute Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide. They should also have real-world Program and Project management experience.
